RGV LEAD Board Kicks Off 2023-2024 School Year
The RGV LEAD Board of Directors met recently to discuss the 2023-2024 school year’s budget and RGV LEAD activities. Leading this year’s Board of Directors is Maricela De León, M.P.A.CEO, M&S De Leon Enterprises, LLC & Business Owner, RGV Grant Consulting, LLC.
The return of in-person P—16 Counselors Network meetings is of special interest to counselors throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Cindy Valdez, Associate Vice President for Student Support Services at the University of Texas-Pan American, is looking forward to sharing educational information with counselors and plans to have them share best practices.
Also, returning to the RGV LEAD school year will be the traditional Regional Conference. This highly anticipated event will see the return of special guest speakers in industry and education. Dates for the event will be provided to RGV LEAD partners in the early fall.
Fundraisers will continue to be held to provide scholarships to area seniors. The 3rd Annual Shooting for Success Skeet Shoot will be held on November 10th at the El Dorado Skeet Shoot north of Edinburg. The new school year will also see the return of the RGV LEAD Ambassador program. School districts are encouraged to participate in this leadership development activity, which aims to prepare students for college to produce future leaders.
