Updated: Sep 23

Team Mission is here to help!

The Mission Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), working alongside various economic development allies, promotes Mission as a prime business destination and provides customized support for investing in and growing operations and workforce in the Rio Grande Valley.

Workers at MEDC come from various backgrounds such as business, community development, policy making, history, marketing, and more. We share a common passion and determination to witness the prosperity of the City of Mission, the Rio Grande Valley, and its inhabitants.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusivity

MEDC aims to cultivate a diverse workforce encompassing multiple generations, races, and backgrounds, each bringing a wide array of values, beliefs, experiences, preferences, and behaviors. This entails having a workforce that reflects a comprehensive range of similarities and distinctions, including race, ethnicity, religion, gender, educational background, age, socio-economic standing, health condition, nationality, political views, family structure, marital or relationship status, perspectives, values, and opinions. Embracing diversity is crucial for our prosperity and achievement.

Advancing Career Preparedness and Fostering Industry Understanding

MEDC promotes career readiness and cultivates industry knowledge among students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Collaboration among business, education, and community leaders is undeniably an effective approach to equipping students for their future endeavors.

RGV LEAD appreciates the support from MDEC.
