RGV LEAD 2026 Student Leadership Workshop Sponsorship Opportunities
Last call for Sponsors!

RGV LEAD is preparing to welcome students from across its Member Districts for the 2026 Student Leadership Workshop on October 6, 2026, in Mission, Texas. This year’s theme, LEAD Forward: Empowering Today’s Students. Building Tomorrow’s Workforce., speaks to a clear goal: help students grow as leaders while connecting them to career pathways, education partners, and the industries shaping the Rio Grande Valley.
A few final sponsorship opportunities remain for businesses and community partners that want to invest directly in students and the region’s future workforce. The sponsorship deadline is October 2.
A workshop built around leadership and career exploration
The Student Leadership Workshop gives students a chance to see leadership as something practical, not abstract. Leadership shows up when students ask thoughtful questions, work through challenges, listen to people with different experiences, and begin to connect their interests with real career options.
For many students, career exploration becomes more meaningful when it feels close to home. The Rio Grande Valley has strong needs and opportunities across education, health care, skilled trades, technology, public service, agriculture, transportation, business, and other fields. When students meet people connected to these areas, they gain a clearer sense of what is possible.
Workshop activities help students turn big goals into next steps they can name
The workshop is designed to help students:
Build confidence as emerging leaders
Learn more about career pathways available in and beyond the Valley
Make connections with educators, employers, and community partners
See how classroom learning connects to future work
Return to their campuses with new ideas and motivation
That kind of experience matters. A single conversation with a mentor, instructor, or industry partner can help a student choose a program of study, apply for a leadership role, or take the next step toward a career goal.
Sponsorship supports students across the Rio Grande Valley
Sponsorships help make the workshop possible for students across RGV LEAD Member Districts. Partner support helps create an experience that is welcoming, well organized, and focused on student growth.
A sponsor’s investment can support the pieces that make a student event successful, including learning materials, student activities, event logistics, and opportunities for students to connect with education and industry representatives. Just as important, sponsorship shows students that local organizations believe in them.
Businesses and community partners play a unique role in this work. Students need to hear from people who understand the skills, habits, and preparation needed in the workplace. They benefit from seeing that leadership is not limited to a title. It can grow through responsibility, service, problem solving, teamwork, and follow-through.
Sponsoring the workshop is one direct way to support that message.
Why community partners make a difference
Strong student leadership programs do not happen in isolation. They grow through collaboration among school districts, higher education, nonprofit organizations, employers, and civic partners.
When businesses and community groups take part, they help students connect classroom learning with life after high school. That connection can be powerful. It helps students understand why communication matters, why attendance matters, why technical skills matter, and why the ability to work well with others can shape career success.
For sponsors, the workshop offers a meaningful way to support workforce development at the student level. It places investment where it can have long-term value: with young people who are preparing to enter college, training programs, the military, entrepreneurship, public service, and the workforce.

The impact reaches beyond one day
The Student Leadership Workshop takes place on one day, but its value can continue well after students leave Mission.
A student may return to school ready to join a leadership organization. Another may ask a counselor about a career program. Another may become more open to public speaking, teamwork, or service. Some may meet adults who help them better understand what different careers require.
Those outcomes begin with access. When partners contribute, they help RGV LEAD give more students a high-quality experience built around leadership, career awareness, and future readiness.
The Rio Grande Valley’s future workforce is already in local classrooms. Supporting students now helps build the confidence, awareness, and connections they will need later.
