Excellence Through Tradition
South Texas College has upheld its tradition of receiving recognition and accolades for its commitment to excellence and innovative initiatives.
STC is at the forefront nationwide for its extensive partnerships with local Independent School Districts. These partnerships encompass collaborations with 21 school districts, 70 high schools, 56 middle schools, and 180 elementary schools.
In 2023, Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine recognized STC as one of the top 10 colleges in the nation for the number of associate degrees awarded, its transition to a four-year institution, and its strong programs in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and related fields.
Valley Promise
The STC Promise program, initiated by STC, aims to offer last-dollar scholarships to dual-credit students from the College's 21 partner school districts. This program covers 100% of their tuition and fees, starting in fall 2023.
STC, along with its state and local partners, acknowledges the significance of having a highly educated workforce for the Valley's future prosperity. They are collectively striving to combat poverty, enhance the economy, and meet the region's workforce requirements by assisting more students in completing college and gaining the essential career skills for lucrative and sought-after positions.
RGV LEAD appreciates the support from STC.
