The P-16 Regional Leadership Team brings together leaders from the Regional P-16 Council and Regional Counselors’ Network with college/university staff providing student access and student services at the region’s public colleges and universities. This small leadership team plans dates and agendas for quarterly meetings of the P-16 Council and Counselors’ Network, and the group works together on initiatives when needed, such as a transition counseling initiative, with resources, developed to address the need to help students and their families become informed consumers, making informed decisions about creating college transcripts in high school before enrolling in dual-credit courses. (The Transition Counseling resources developed by the P-16 Regional Leadership Team are available in the Resources section of this website.)
Leadership team members include representatives of South Texas College, Texas Southmost College, Texas State Technical College, and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, as well as the Region One Education Service Center, Workforce Solutions, and Workforce Solutions Cameron. In addition to planning dates and agendas for quarterly meetings, this group helps to plan RGV LEAD’s annual regional conference and, when needed, on other initiatives.
RGV LEAD’s Director chairs the P-16 Regional Leadership Team.
