The P-16 groups, comprised of representatives from school districts, institutions of higher education, workforce development boards, and other organizations, support implementation of Texas’ 60X30 plan.
The Regional P-16 Council is a large regional collaborative created to promote communication and cross-sector collaboration of leaders from education at all levels, to create a seam-less system of education for the four-county region.
The Counselors’ Network is a regional collaborative created to provide a forum in which counselors from public schools, colleges, and universities can come together to discuss issues that students and families experience and then develop solutions.
The P-16 Regional Leadership Team is a small group, comprised of student services leaders from South Texas College, Texas Southmost College, Texas State Technical College, and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, together with the Region One Education Service Center and Counselors’ Network Chairs. This team meets with RGV LEAD as needed to plan agendas for P-16 Council and Counselors’ Network meetings, plus RGV LEAD’s annual conference. When needed, this team also works together to develop resources, such as the Transition Counseling resources available in the Initiatives section of RGV Lead’s website.
